Monitoring also means establishing clear expectations about what your child should always tell you AND that they can always talk to you about the things going on in their life

 

 

How can parents monitor their children?

·         Insist that your child call and let you know where he or she is after school.

·         Find out what adults are going to be home at any parties your child attends.

·         Find out where your child is going and with whom.

·         Find out how your child will get there and back home.

·         Show up early to pick your child up so that you can observe his or her behavior.

·         Make a list of your child’s weekly activities and keep it in your day timer or on the refrigerator.

·         Check up on your child occasionally to see that he or she is where they said they would be.
